Back to School Night August 2nd!

SALISBURY, N.C. — Millbridge Speedway’s 12th week of Wednesday Series outlaw kart competition will arguably be one of its most important of the season, as the fast sixth-mile gears up for its annual ‘Back to School’ Night on Aug. 2.

Highlighting the kids that help make racing fun at Millbridge, the Beginner Box Stocks and Box Stocks will run qualifying practice and features only, forgoing heat races for one night to bring live, pre-race driver introductions to both classes.

In addition, the top three feature finishing positions in both classes will pay out that night, with $100 going to the winner in both Beginner Box Stocks and Box Stocks, $50 going to the runner-up and $25 going to third-place in the mains.

The feature winners will also receive specially-made Back to School trophies. In past years, the trophies have featured school supplies integrated into the trophies themselves, making for a unique victory keepsake for the winners.

Beginner Box Stock points leader Cassidy Keitt will lead the class for 5-8 year olds into action, as she seeks her 10th win of the year and eighth in a row, while Box Stock kingpin Trevor Cline will be hoping to shake off his recent misfortunes and break a four-race winless drought.

Off the race track, multiple special activities will take place for the kids in attendance in preparation for their return to school, including a bike giveaway, school supply giveaways, candy drop and the always-popular quarter race.

More than $200 worth of quarters will be spread out on the frontstretch for this year’s quarter race, ready for kids to dash after and take home with them.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, with engine warm ups following at 6:30 and racing kicking off at 8.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for kids ages 7-12, while those six and under are admitted free of charge.

For fans who can’t make it to the track, the night’s racing action will be broadcast live on as part of their ‘Summer Thunder Series’.
