2016 Rules Reminder
Everyone its finally time to kick off the 2016 season! We can’t thank everyone enough for all of their help and support to get everything ready and get us to where we are! Below are some of the rules changes or highlights for this year. All of our 2016 rules are posted on the website www.MillbridgeSpeedway.com Also we will provide every division with transponders each week but due to the pouches going missing each week we are asking that everyone please buy their own. We will have some to sell and have a few to hand out each week but once they are gone we would like everyone to have their own.
Beginner Box Stock/Box Stock. Pretty much everything in these two classes remain the same. Fuel must still be 87 Octane Pump gas. Our baseline fuel will still come from Raja Mart located at 3610 Mooresville Road. (2 miles from the track towards Salisbury). Sail panels cannot extend behind the cage or above the cage. Safety Tech Items will result in last place points on your first offence. Week one we will warn you about them (Safety tech only). Any time after that you will be DQ’ed. Please see rulebook for all other tech items. Tires still must be purchased at the race track from either SKE or Millbridge Speedway. Once purchased they must come to the tech shed immediately before they can go on the racetrack.
Intermediate class rules. As most of you know, we were planning on using the Winter Series to adjust our Intermediate Rules to make the different engine packages as close as possible. Since we had to cancel a couple of the races we will be using the first 3 races of the season to do this. Intermediates ONLY the first 3 races will be NON POINTS until we finalize the weight/tire rules for this. We will still race and everything like normal but there will be NO points until the April 20th race for Intermediates. See below for the major bullet points.
250F:
- Stock Stroke, Stock Bore.
- 400# weight rule with driver
- Any size wing as long as it is the same size or smaller than the production wings. (We will post a max and minimum dimension in the 2016 rule book.)
- No Right Side sail panels. No nose wings
- Hoosier Tires only. There is no compound rule at this time.
125 2 Stroke:
- Stock Stroke, 135CC max.
- 350# weight rule with driver
- Any size wing as long as it is the same size or smaller than the production wings. (we will post a max and minimum dimension in the 2016 rule book.)
- No Right Side sail panels. No nose wings
- Hoosier Tires only. Can run any compound.
Thumper X:
- There will be no weight rule for drivers with the Thumper X engine.
- Hoosier Tires must still be impounded and bought through the track. No soaking allowed.
Open Division. NO FRONT WINGS ALLOWED. Side panels cannot extend about the cage or behind the lower frame rail. 3 inches behind the cage MAX. If they start getting out of hand, we will issue a square inch rule on them. They will be checked opening night. We are also going to try something different with the race formats. We will qualify everyone and invert the top 4 in each heat race. Where ever you finish that will determine our starting lineup. The heat 1 winner will draw a pill 0,4, or 6 to determine if we invert. We will do a couple of double inverts (0,8,12,16) throughout the year as well. They are listed on the website.
Good Luck to everyone in the 2016 season. We appreciate all your help and support! Let’s make 2016 a year to remember!
